Beijing, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) — More and more people are choosing to travel on ice and snow as the winter Olympics approach, according to reports released recently.According to a survey commissioned by the General Administration of Sport of China and conducted by the National Bureau of Statistics, China has achieved its goal of “attracting 300 million people to participate in snow and ice sports”, with 346 million people participating in the sport and 24.56 percent of residents participating.Driven by favorable factors such as “300 million people participating in ice and snow sports” and the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, the number of ice and snow tourism and the number of people participating in ice and snow sports continues to grow steadily, the potential of ice and snow tourism market is further stimulated, and the development of ice and snow tourism industry is ushering in a period of rapid development.According to the report on the Legacy of Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games (2022), the number of snow and ice tourists in the 2016-2017 snow season is 170 million, and the income of snow and ice tourism is 270 billion YUAN.
